My Camino Fingerprint
They call it the Camino Footprint , the mark we leave behind as we walk. But for me, the more accurate term would be Camino Fingerprint . I believe every person who walks the Camino has a completely different experience. We may follow the same arrows, walk the same roads, and eventually arrive at the same destination, but no two people can have the same Camino, what we carry inside us, what we are searching for, what we are grieving, what we are hoping for, and what we discover along the way will always be uniquely ours. I still remember my first four kilometers. Only four. I was already wondering if I would ever finish the walk. My body was hurting, there was pain and discomfort, and the road ahead seemed impossibly long. Santiago felt so far away that I couldn’t imagine how I would ever get there.
